Great, we’ve found a way to get rid of head lice without using the harsh chemicals…. so which oils do you use? You may have some experience with essential oils and know which oils you like or don’t like or what works best for you. I didn’t! I was a bit lost actually, I knew I wanted to try the essential oils option but, well I guess what I really wanted was for someone to tell me what to do!
My understanding when it comes to mixing your own essential oils is that there are no stringent black-and-white “how to do this” rules on which oils go well together.
The oils that have worked for me time and again in my family’s Nitflixx routine are oils generally used for medicinal purposes together with scented oils, and whilst we love the smell, the head lice do not!
You can use the same oils as I have recommended in the Nitflixx Guide, you can get started with the Nitflixx Starter Kit or you can adapt it to suit your own needs and preferences.
Essentially it comes down to your personal scent and taste, any allergies you may have to certain oils and your own experimentations and favourites – after a while you might like to change the scent of your Nitflixx shampoo and conditioner and try a new combination and see what works best for you.
Various scientific studies have been done, and have proven, that essential oils are equally, if not more efficient in treating and maintaining head lice infestations than the chemical alternative.

Essential Oils – Safety
There are a number of essential oils you can use. Please ensure you test the oils on your or your child’s skin before proceeding.
Although rare for allergic reactions from oils we don’t want to see our little munchkins any more annoyed or in pain during the process.
Your oils will come with certain safety messages. In particular:
(1) if you are pregnant or trying to conceive
(2) watch closely on children under the age of 2 and
(3) Avoid contact with the eyes (always cover or close the eyes).
If your child has a reaction or is allergic to one, move on to the next oil on the list.
